I drew this with the intent of submitting it to the WLF-tshirt contest, but I’m debating whether or not I should. Heard some bad stuff about the last one, giving me regrets. Either way, it’s great for motivating me to draw, because look at this gorgeous cutie. I love Karkat.
a sorcerer shows up to a castle and is like “I LAY A CURSE UPON YOUR FAMILY, YOU SHALL NEVER HAVE SONS TO CARRY ON YOUR LINE”
and the two Kings exchange a glance like ‘are you for real how is this a curse’ and proceed to raise 5 wonderful little children who are cis girls, trans girls, or nonbinary, and really don’t give a shit whether or not their children are going to procreate, and it’s gr8 because now they have the heads up that none of their children are going to identify as men and it’s not even an issue
one of their daughters is super uninterested in any of the princes from neighbouring kingdoms but then kisses her BFF the duchess on the cheek one day and they both start glowing and King Dad #1 and King Dad #2 are like ‘yep that’s one of those True Love things, happened to us’
one of the genderfluid kids decides to marry the prince-next-door because they know he’ll be a good political ally, plus he’s a cool friend and neither of them really wants to deal with romance or anything of the sort, so it’s a great arrangement
the youngest daughter trains to be a knight, then hunts down the sorcerer and is like “why did you think this was a curse? ‘I curse you to have girls or trans children’ what the actual fuck is wrong with you, what is so bad about girls, what is so bad about trans kids, somehow you think I, a trans girl, am my fathers’ worst nightmare, what the fuck do you have to say for yourself” and the sorcerer honestly can’t think of a reply, so the girl just kicks his ass and steals the secrets to his power and becomes the new sorcerer and takes over running the kingdom (now queendom) for her day job
but apparently part of being a sorcerer is that you’re forced to either lay curses on families (apparently, only the curse-caster must think the curse is a bad thing, not the cursed party, who even MADE these rules?) OR steal their children, so the Queen sighs and sets to work finding loopholes in all the ancient rules until she can get away with stealing children who are unwanted or likely to be mistreated due to gender or sexuality or disability, and she just collects all these kids and brings them to her queendom where her siblings and her retired fathers help raise them and find them families where they are valued and wanted
a dragon shows up one day wanting to fight the Sorcerer Queen Knight but she shuts him down (”As much as I would revel in the chance to defeat a dragon in all its might and glory, I must admit that the trials of this sorcerer seldom lend an opportunity for her to set aside the Queendom and engage in such folly. And now, I must away to a child in need, but Sir Dragon is formally invited tomorrow at the hour of tea if he wishes to snack upon a few simple sheep”) so then the dragon keeps coming for tea once a week, trying to challenge her to a fight but ending up sucked into a conversation about literature, rhetoric, military tactics, politics, and morality every single time, until two years later when she proposes a new alliance between the Queendom and the dragons (who, interestingly enough, still terrorise almost everyone except her own monarchy), and suddenly he accepts without even knowing how he got attached to this puny mortal and she marries a fucking dragon and together with the rest of her family they build the most powerful, socially equitable monarchy this side of the sea
